Inside Eastwood Homes

"Care-Builders" Campaign Visit

During the month of August, the Charlotte employees of Eastwood Homes collected donations for the Levine Children’s Hospital through their “Care-Builders” Campaign.  On August 27th, several members of the Eastwood Homes Team visited the Charlotte Hospital  to present the children and staff members of Levine with the toys, games, books, toiletries, and other necessities that they collected.

The donation campaign was very successful.  Several boxes of items were collected and donated during the brief reception and presentation Thursday.  The staff members, management team, and children at Levine were very grateful for the donations.   During the presentation, Scott Kerr, Vice President of the Carolinas Healthcare Foundation, spoke very highly of Eastwood Homes and their philantorpic efforts.

The “Care-Builders” Campaign is the third component of the philantropic partnership that Eastwood Homes shares with the Levine Children’s Hospital.  In addition to collecting these gift items, Eastwood Homes donates a portion of the proceeds of each Charlotte-area sale to the Hospital.  Additionally, in January of 2008, Eastwood unveiled their Hospitality Cart to the Hospital.  This brightly-colored and welcoming cart circles the floors of the hospital on a daily basis and offers books, games, toiletries, and other necessities to the families staying in the hospital free of charge.

During their visit to the Levine Children’s Hospital on August 27th, the employees of Eastwood Homes had the opportunity to see the Hospitality Cart in Action.  Hospital volunteer Julie Pomeroy walked the floors of the hospital followed by several Eastwood employees presenting the cart and it’s offerings to the families staying in the hospital.  It was a moving and memorable experience for all.
